Dr. Naseem A. Shekhani, Director (Former General Secretary) – WMONA

Naseem A. ShekhaniNaseem A. Shekhani, born in Karachi, Pakistan near Burns Garden/I.I.Chundrigar Road area.   Naseem Shekhani belongs to Dhoraji Memon Jamat. Naseem Shekhani completed his high school from St. Patrick’s’ High School in Karachi, Pre-medical College was D.J., College and Graduated from Dow Medical College in 1982.

Naseem Shekhani has been active in student politics and represented left leaning student’s party known as National Student Federation in Dow Medical College and city of Karachi. Naseem Shekhani was elected President of Union in 1980. During his tenure Low cost book scheme was introduced in Dow Medical College and elsewhere in Pakistan.

After graduation Naseem Shekhani migrated to US, finished his residency in Family Medicine from Southern Illinois University, School of medicine and practice for three years and changed his field to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and graduated from Rush University in Chicago. Naseem Shekhani is Board Certified in PM&R and practices in St. Louis Missouri. USA. since 1997.

Naseem Shekhani is very active in Dow Medical College Alumni Association and Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America. In 2013 he received life time achievement award from Dow Medical College Alumni Association and at present is heading the Committee to establish APPNA FOUNDATION. Naseem Shekhani was also President of APPNA St. Louis chapter for year 2012 and was Board of Directors of APPNA Health Clinic in St. Louis from 2010-2012. Naseem Shekhani is member of NAACP and Amnesty International and was in American Civil Liberties Union Board in State of Missouri for 5 years i.e. 2005-2009. Naseem Shekhani was President of Democratic Party Asian American Caucus in State of Missouri.

Currently Naseem Shekhani is Life time member and Secretary of World Memon Association of North America, which was established in 2013 and is a non for profit registered organization in USA.  Naseem Shekhani has helped Memon Medical Institute in fund raising and given a good name to MMI in USA.

Naseem Shekhani is also President of National Health Forum, Inc in USA; NHF is involved with philanthropic work in USA and in Pakistan. Just last year NHF raised over half a million dollars for Charitable women Hospital in Karachi, which deal mainly with indigent population of Landhi, Karachi. NHF has also helped Children Cancer Center. NHF is affiliated with Midwifery teaching program and help fund many medical books for para-medical staff translating in Urdu Language.   NHF has established two computer libraries in Karachi at Koohi Goth Hospital and Qatar Hospital Karachi, Pakistan.

Naseem Shekhani’s passion is that to help younger Memon generation to achieve high goals and be best in their respective fields.
