Mohammed Bashir son of Abdul Shakoor (Madar) Akuly, was born at Nanakwara, Karachi, Pakistan. Bashir Akuly belongs to Bantva Memon Jamat. Bashir Akuly completed his high school from Pakistan National High School in Karachi, Intermediate from Islamia College and BA in Economics from Karachi University in 1973.
After graduation Bashir Akuly migrated to USA and has been working for fortune 500 company in professional capacity for last 30 years. He has held various positions including Senior Financial Analyst for Japan and South East Asia Markets. Currently, working as Project Manager and holds a Project Management Certification from George Washington Graduate University.
Bashir Akuly has been active in community service and has been well known for his involvement in non-profit organizations and community services in Chicago land area. He is the founding member and served on the Board of Trustees of Masjid Al Hudha in Schaumburg, Illinois from 1991 – 1997. He held Treasurer’s Position for Masjid Al Hudha, Schaumburg, IL. from 1991 – 1997.
Bashir Akuly served on board of directors for Asian Broadcasting Network, Chicago for several years.
Bashir Akuly served on board of directors and Treasurer for Chicago Memon Association for year 2006.
Currently Bashir Akuly is a Treasurer of World Memon Association of North America, which was established in 2013 and is a non for profit registered organization in USA.
Bashir Akuly is also serving on the Board of Directors for Al-Shifa Foundation of North America, Chicago Chapter as well as on advisory committee of Al-Shifa Foundation North America, USA which is a non for profit registered organization in USA. Bashir Akuly has been instrumental in organizing fund raisings and has given a good name to Al-Shifa Foundation of North American in Chicago land area for over 10 years.
Currently Vice President and on Board of Director for BHC Foundation which is a non for profit registered organization in USA and operates a clinic in Kohat, Pakistan which provides free medical treatments to needy.
Bashir Akuly’s passion is to help under privileged, elders and specially work with younger generation in guiding them to excel in education and be best in class in their respective field and profession. He drives our youth to become a productive, respectable and good human being. He advises them to give back to the community from what they have been blessed with for the betterment of under privileged and the communities they live in. He believes in propagating good at all levels of the community and discourages evil regardless of how small or miniscule it may seem.
